Lovely Ideas for your wedding in Tuscany

Sep 25, 2019

Castiglion del Bosco

If you are looking for an exclusive and luxurious venue to organize your wedding, Castiglion del Bosco is the place for you. It is located a few miles from Montalcino, in the UNESCO featured Val d’Orcia Natural Park, surrounded by pristine forest and hectares of golf courses. The main Borgo is located on a hilltop and provides welcoming suites and rooms with luxurious amenities, two casual restaurants for drinks and snacks, a small church for religious ceremonies and a fascinating ruin – your wedding photographer with thank you.

All around, lost inside the property, there are ten large exclusive villas, which can be booked weekly for events and celebrations. From any spot of the property, you will enjoy panoramic views of Montalcino and the surrounding countryside.

Castiglion del Bosco is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful retreats of Tuscany; here you will find everything you would expect from a 5-star hotel and beyond. The hotel grounds are beautiful, and everything has been meticulously curated and thought out.

Borgo Santo Pietro

The Relais Borgo Santo Pietro is a luxury hotel located in the south of Tuscany. It’s close to the beautiful Abbey of San Galgano, lost in the countryside and surrounded by the greenery. It’s a wonderful venue to organize ceremonies and receptions, thanks to the many villas to accommodate families and guests. In my opinion, it’s the best venue for elopements and honeymoons as well.

Villa Mangiacane

Villa Mangiacane is an utterly decadent and luxurious 15th-century villa built by the Machiavelli family, showing the hand of the most famous Renaissance master, Michelangelo. It’s one of the most exclusive venues for destination weddings in Tuscany, located about 30 minutes far from Florence airport. Thanks to its convenient position, it’s also the best for touring Chianti, Florence and Siena areas.

The villa provides numerous areas for ceremony and reception. You can organise them in the courtyard, by the pool or in the fabulous garden with a view. The villa areas are lush and welcoming, and all the rooms are comfy and quiet with extensive vineyard views. It also has a smaller hotel on the same property, not physically in the villa – great to host friends and families from abroad. From the many terraces, you see the Duomo of Florence illuminated at night. The villa also offers wine and olive tasting tour.

Borgo Finocchieto

Borgo Finocchieto is the greatest balance of Tuscan beauty and luxury accommodation. It’s a tiny village from before 1000, located near Montalcino, in the most glorious countryside of Tuscany. It was purchased and renovated to Reinassance beauty by former Ambassador John Phillips, with every attention to details. This lovely 800yo Borgo is comprised of a manor house and four separate villas. Thanks to its features (and to Pascale and Franco, the managers), the Borgo is a perfect wedding venue to find privacy in luxurious style.

Getting married here is a dream, for both spouses and their guests. Borgo Finocchieto makes the most of its setting, with beautiful and well-well cared grounds. Every room is super functional, and the food and wine are excellent.

The gym offers fabulous vistas of the surrounding hills; the pool is situated at the edge of the mountain providing a whimsical view of the surrounding countryside, including vineyards. Borgo Finocchieto is ideally located from the airport of Florence, for day trips to Siena and the beautiful hills towns of Tuscany. The area also offers excellent trails for general exploration or long walks.

The Lazy Olive

The Lazy Olive, also called Podere Finerri, is an ancient property located near Asciano. It is undoubtedly the venue with the most beautiful view of the whole Tuscany! Only from here, you can enjoy 360 degrees of pure Tuscan scenery and breathtaking sunsets.

There are so many places here to organize ceremonies! The reception might take place on the terrace; the owners provide an excellent in-house caterer with local food, and you can rent the whole village for you and your guests weekly. You can take advantage of the pool with a view for the cocktail hour and wedding photographs – as well as to relax during the rest of the holiday.

Villa Grabau

The countryside of Lucca is peppered with impressive villas in elegant gardens, many of them closed to the public or in state of decay as the maintenance is not provided by state funding anymore. Villa Grabau is one of the smaller ones still inhabited by the owners. Located just 5 miles from the centre, it provides a dreamy setting for anyone wishing to celebrate among the precious, centuries-old trees of the gardens.

From 1640, the Italian Garden welcomes spouses and guests with the beauty of its symmetries and the extraordinary collection of lemons in aged terracotta pots, the elegant rooms of the Villa, entirely furnished and frescoed. The gardens are impeccably well maintained and a pleasure to walk through. Most wondrous the numerous pots with lemon trees and the Orangerie with the most massive ficus you might ever see hanging from the ceilings.

You can have both civil and symbolic ceremonies in all the areas of the villa, which might host hundreds of guest with a solid backup plan. Spouses and families might also stay in the three smaller rustic villas which are also on the grounds. As for the wedding photographers, you didn’t even need to leave the villa for the pictures as there is so much variety for the backdrop within the property.
